How Artificial Intelligence helps us be better Reality Masters
AlphaStar is an artificially intelligent agent created in 2019 by DeepMind, a Google project. Their intent was to create an AI bot capable of playing and hopefully beating professional players of the StarCraft game.
I'm not a StarCraft game player however I am aware of StarCraft because my dad and my sons loved to play it. If you're not aware of StarCraft then hopefully it won't matter; just think of any event where two sides are battling for supremacy. In StarCraft, the technology is more futuristic but unfortunately the intent is still to destroy your opponent.
As a computer programmer and software developer for many years, as well as my parallel exploration of higher consciousness, I have always had a keen interest in Artificial Intelligence and how it has developed over the decades. I have been loosely aware of DeepMind for a while, but only recently came across this AlphaStar coverage.
In the video below, Oriole Venules of DeepMind commented about some of the AlphaStar strategies, saying they "challenge some of the wisdom that has spread among top players and also players that are trying to learn the game." - 1:48:30
This is precisely what we need to learn to do as Reality Masters, to challenge the 'wisdom' that has been entrenched in our society and passed into us as facts. We must treat these 'facts' as questionable results of historic trial and error, then look to developing our own thinking to create strong foundations upon which we become Reality Masters to benefit ourselves and our wider society.
An important example of how we can develop the mastery of our personal reality is depicted 47 minutes into the video (and 1hr 52 mins as a follow-up), where a league of AI bots grows as it explores and achieves greater results. As we develop our own higher consciousness capabilities, this league is a powerful description of the tactics that we must apply in our own personal learning and development cycle.
Rather than achievements in sport, business, etc. being about gaining pride and recognition, I wonder how much greater it would be if the results were used to analyse how our effort has contributed to the development (entropy reduction) of human spiritual and physical ascension.
For me though, the problem in this depiction of AI learning is something that is very common in historic warfare. Namely, in order to learn better tactics for keeping ourselves safe, we must sacrifice massive amounts of expendable resources (people fodder) in order to learn better techniques for killing people. And the better we are at killing other people, the better defence we have against other people trying to kill us.
But this is a horrific way of creating a safe environment. What we are seeing in the video is Artificial Intelligence being trained as a killing machine. We have shown historically that we are already rather good at doing that.
What I would like to see instead, and feel we must embed into the AI training at its core is Justice. To do that, we must first develop a society for ourselves where Justice is our prime directive, where we embed justice fully into our psyche that it becomes a facet of our soul. Then we are ready to use the 'league' approach to improving our human condition.
And if you're wondering how we begin this journey to embedding justice into our soul, I invite you to come and join the PALS at Reality Master here: https://facebook.com/groups/realitymasterpals
